PDF conversion and I do not get along

Hi. Just PDFed an old score of mine (because I can't find the original score anywhere) and ran it through the conversion routine. I got back a lot of gibberish, including the following:

Now, the whole score is in 4/4. It's a samba; so there's a lot of syncopation. But should that have produced this...stuff? You can compare the MS file to the PDF, which is 300dpi grayscale/text. In the meantime, guess I'll get to work transcribing this score into MS.
