Loose Hi Hats ø

I'm interested in a loose hi hat articulation donated by "ø" that acts in the same way as "o" (open) and "+" (close). I tried adding that element to a custom palette, but it does not have the same placement as the "o" and "+". The fix I've found, so far, is to copy the symbol from word, select the note, then paste as text and adjust. I have found that selecting all notes of the same note works, but there is still considerable editing between closed and open hats. Love the program!!
