autosaved files in Windows
I run the latest version of Windows, and have noticed that autosaved files are in this format ".CHH Parry - Never Weather-Beaten Sail SSATB A415 highlight score.mscz", which cannot be opened by Musescore. Normal files are the same format, minus the . at the start of the filename.
Does anyone know (a) how to open these files, should I ever need them, or (b) how to correctly autosave Musescore files?
I'm very diligent in saving whenever I see the * in the score tab (and in any case I save regularly when working on a score), but in the event of system crashes, power outages, etc, it would be good to have a reliable autosave option.
Thank you!

You have actually identified the backup files. This is the same file the previous time you saved and closed a score. It will be missing everything you did in the last session. To be able to open it, look at it in the file explorer and rename it. Click it twice rather slowly. Don't double click it, that will cause you an error. When you rename it you need to remove the starting . and the ending , that will make it not be a normal .mscz file. You also need to do something else with the name because it's the same name and in the same folder as the score you last worked on.
