Change the way to copy/append/implode staves
Hi, Gang!!!
I wonder if the development team would want to change the way to implode staves into one.
Today, we have to following the long (and annoying) procedure:
1) Exchange voices into the upper staff.
2) Selected all in the second staff.
3) Copy and paste the selection into the upper staff.
4) Exchange, again, the voices into the upper staff.
I propose an automatic procedure, each time a user want to implode:
1) MuseScore has to, automatically and silently, exchange the voices into the upper staff.
2) Copy and paste the selection into the staff.
3) Again, MuseScore has to exchange the voices, automatically and silently.
Very simple!!! (hi hi hi)
BTW: I want to add something to this idea: the future capability to have more than 4 voices per staff.
Just an idea.
Blessings and Greetings from Chile!!!

The current implode works like what you are describing, I think.
Select 3 consecutive staves.
Use the implode tool from the Tools menu
You end up with the notes in voices 1 - 3.
If some of the voices have the same rhythm, you can select the top staff and use implode again. Voices with the same rhythms will be turned into chords in highest voice (1 is the highest) and the rest will remain in voices.

Sometimes, I wonder (because, sometimes, my neurons still work, hehehe), if would it be better MuseScore always uses the voices characteristic, when we have to use more than one note at a time, into the same instrument.
I mean, each time we use more than one note, MuseScore automatically understands it as there is more than one voice.
Could be better??? Maybe???

It always uses voices with notes in different staves. It then tries to reduce the number of voices when you use it on one staff, so it will avoid using shared note heads, though this is not always possible (or even wanted), even for a human.
Implode is a tool to make things easier, not to eliminate the need for the user to think or make decisions. Different situations require different results.

Oh!!! Maybe it is a change into MuseScore 3 (it didn't work with MuseScore 2).
BTW: I used it in one score to test this and... Yes, it works, but... I think there are some "bugs" because there are some "collisions" with some silences and notes (from different voices). See the attachment. Also, if we implode two staff where the voices are different rhythm and lyrics, the result is a full collapsed lyric line (not understandable at all). We expected the lyric of the voice 1 be in the upper side of the staff, or... In a different lyric line.

You are correct. In version 2 implode blindly put all of the notes in voice 1 of the top staff, adjusting note durations as it thought it needed. BTW, my previous post crossed with yours.

Ha ha ha!!! Typical situation of the Internet age!!!

The internet is great.
I will once again emphasize that implode is a tool to help. To make your guitar look good, you would need to do a little bit of work yourself.

I tested it with a male quartet arrangement, with lyrics of course, and... When some voice has a different rhythm and lyrics... The final result is a full collapsed lyrics line!!! We can not to read it well.
I expected to get the voice 1 lyrics into the upper side of the staff, or, in a lyrics line above the lyric line of the other voice in the same staff.
Is it a bug?

I guess you mean that voice 1 lyrics are superimposed on voice 2 lyrics so you can't read them. You can adjust voices independently. For example, you can right click a voice 1 lyric, use select>more... and check in the same voice and in the same system, then click OK to select all of the voice 1 lyrics. You then have several options. You can press X to move them above the staff. You can turn off automatic placement and move them using the x & y offsets all at once.
The inspector really makes moving things like this much easier.

Thanks!!! It's so cool to know how to fix this.
