feature easier adjustability
Is it possible to have a right click drop down menu popup for each element on the music page, hairpins, dynamics, lyrics, etc.) giving the user quick access to adjustable parameters? For example, say I have a hairpin, and instead of clicking on it and accessing the inspector, how about the right click drop down menu pops up right next to the hairpin and right there I can change its dynamic range, and velocity, etc. Say, I want to change the lyrics position, I right click on the lyrics and a popup menu gives me all the adjustability features available for lyrics in one spot. I previously suggested this for the dynamics, but now I realize, maybe this could apply to anything that has adjustability. If the adjustment needs to be done in a menu other than an inspector, then multiple menu options should pop up from which a person selects the proper menu and from there the specific adjustment. This help in speed but also lets the user know all the possible adjustment that can be done on the highlighted feature, so the user does not have to dig around for proper menu that allows the specific adjustment.

The big advantages of the Inspector are that a) it can stay up at all times and thus not require a separate action, b) it is not modal and won't interfere with your ability to do other things, c) it can easily act on multiple elements at once, and d) it can contain a wide variety of controls that would be hard to model in a popup menu. I do get that by right-clicking the element itself and having the controls right there, it saves the extra moment to move the mouse to the Inspector. Given the other reasons why the Inspector is really the better way to go in general, maybe a smaller popup with just a handful of the most common settings could come up?
Hmm, another thought - you can close the Inspector, and F8 reopens it. Could be interesting to have a specific action (whether F8, "middle" button click, or whatever) that actually opened the Inspector undocked right at the cursor position.
BTW, no need to use the Inspector to alter position, the keyboard or mouse can move things directly.

I think that your suggestion of
"smaller popup with just a handful of the most common settings could come up " sounds good. Maybe customisable subset of features that were "recently" used would come up? The list would update say to 5 most recently used distinct features.
