Multi measure rest breaks a line into two
Sometimes a multi measure rest will push measures behind it into a new line, whereas not using multi measure rest will fit all the rests into the same line.
How does the smaller multi measure rest induce a line break
when the much larger measures fit into the same line?

So, for this particular file, after I close Musescore and re-open the file, it puts it all back into the same line.
Still begs the question, why does it happen in the first place?

I believe this is related to #289933: Layout shift in measure at start of system. I would like Marc Sabatella either confirm this or ask you to enter an issue report.
It could be related to the issue mentioned above indeed. In order to do more than guess, we'd need you to attach the actual score, not just a picture of it.
