Piccolo Snare in Drumset?

• Jun 2, 2019 - 15:43

I am doing an arrangement, and I cannot find the Piccolo Snare sound in the drumset editor. I have 3.1 and the drumline extension (literally just downloaded both) but I would rather have the sound in the system, I am assuming I am blind and hoping someone could tell me the number to the drumset sound for it. If there is no sound, I will just put an invisible piccolo snare at the bottom of the score.

Additionally, how can I get suspended cymbal to sound like one rather than currently producing no sound like with the piccolo snare? This is in a separate part for crash and suspended.

I don't know percussion I know brass that's it if these are dumb questions please tell me that too.

I know the piccolo snare doesn't have its own sound the the GM standard set. I suggest that you assign it the same sound as the snare and live with that sound. There are probably percussion soundfonts that include it, you can google piccolo snare sf2 and see what comes up.

For the cymbal, use either the splash cymbal or the Chinese cymbal. The Splash cymbal should be a slightly higher "pitch" than the Chinese cymbal.

For available sounds see https://www.midi.org/specifications-old/item/gm-level-1-sound-set. To see what then mean, google their names.
