Trill and intelligent layout
As a part of intelligent layout I would expect the trill to end at the rest, not bleed over.

It does, if you select the proper range (eg, blue rectangle around just the note/notes you want) when adding the trill. If you select the entire measure - or don't specify the full selection but instead only click the starting point - all lines default to a full measure.
