bagpipe embellishments
They should be snapping, not playing like other notes. Am I doing something wrong ?

I guess you are talking about playback. Unless you have some special bagpipe soundfont that includes special samples for short notes and manage to configure it to be used here, these will simply play as short notes.

Yes. Why are they in the palettes ? For my first score I have chosen a transcription, meant to be a test. The result is nowhere near the recording. I hope there will be some improvement. I like the pipes.

They are in the palettes fr the same reason as virtually everything else in MuseScore: to help you create beautifully-notated scores. Notation is the primary purpose of MuseScore.
