Dynamic "sffz" and crescendos
The dynamic "sffz" works fine by itself as a fortissimo dynamic, however when placed at the end of a crescendo, it does not crescendo at all.

See https://musescore.org/en/node/290616 for info on this in version 3.1. The sffz works like any other dynamic (p, ff...)
sffz is not a fortissimo dynamic, not a regular one anyhow - it is supposed to affect only the given note. So crescendoing to it kind of defeats the purpose. better to use the regular ff, then add a subito p or whatever afterwards if desired. But if you have some unusual special need to have a crescendo to sffz (and are prepared to explain it to the musicians playing the score!), you can set velocity change on the crescendo manually using the Inspector.

I've seen it in one of the last couple of scores I transcribed and it works fine in MuseScore because there is a velocity assigned to it for MuseScore to crescendo to. The exact interpretation is a bit less than clear though.

I'm guessing that whether it works or not might depend on the soundfont, the CC settings, whether the instrument supports SND, etc. So I'm just taking the OP's claim at face value.
Thanks to the both of you. And it's working fine now
