Musescore 3.1 Popping and Cracking
I have been using Musescore since Musescore 1 and have never had a problem with playback but for some reason on Musescore 3 (3.1 now), I have always had an extremely bad popping and clicking sound that occurs frequently throughout pieces that require instrumentation with high and low voices. I have searched the forums for a solution and almost none of the similar forum posts have any solutions and any that do they don’t work.
I use a 2017 MacBook Pro, 2.3 GHz I5, 8 GB Ram
I have used this computer for WAY beefier programs than Musescore so the problem should not lie with the computer but rather in a bug in the software. Please help.

For some Mac users a PRAM (Parameter Random Access Memory)/NVRAM (NV for non-volatile) reset may solve it

Are you still having this issue?

Yes, have had it ever since Musescore 3 was released
Same issue here on MacOS Mojave
Its not all the time, just every now and then it will pop when doing something related to note input.

I had this on my 2012 Mac. Replacing it with a 2018 Mac (it was nearing the end of its term anyway) helped considerably, but "isn't for everyone".
