Oddity in attempting to delete line breaks in text

• Jun 27, 2019 - 07:35

Using MuseScore 3.2.0.7410.

I just added a couple of line returns/breaks at the end of some staff text. I did that to create more space between staffs. I discovered, when I went to delete them again, that you can't delete line returns; you have to back space over them to get rid of them. I then tried it out on some other types of text and it appears to be consistent.

This isn't a big deal, but I did have to take a couple of moments to experiment to figure out how to do it, and it is different from how word processing software usually works. Not sure it qualifies as a "bug", and probably not describable as a "feature". It is just an "oddity". :)

At the end of each line there is little "return" icon (a 90 degree arrow pointing downward and left). Click on that return icon to highlight it, then hit the delete button on your keyboard. This will delete that return.

What you wrote is correct, but it seems like there may be some misunderstanding.
So, for the sake of clarity...

The "little 'return' icon (a 90 degree arrow pointing downward and left)" is not a break in text. It is what was formerly called a 'line break', now called a 'system break' (i.e., a break in the music notation itself).
The OP was referring to the "oddity in attempting to delete line breaks in text".
Notice the text in the image. That's what the OP was referencing.
Regards.
