Inserting shapes in a score
Hello!
Could I be advised on how to put a rectangle or a circle in my score, in order to draw attention to a certain area of the score (e.g. by circling a group of notes)?

There is no direct support for this, but see for example https://school.masteringmusescore.com/courses/educational-partnership/l… for one approach using lines. You can also simply create circles using your favorite drawing program then paste the image in. Or use an empty text element then add a frame and set the margin large enough.

Found a way to create ovals (and circles) by using the LINES pallet phrase/slur mark: create one slur over a group of notes, and a second slur over the same group, but using the keystroke 'x' to invert it and drag it down below the first slur mark. Manipulate the size and shape with the adjustable ends and middle of each slur to connect the two slurs, creating an oval or circle. Then shift select the two slurs to copy/paste it over other groups of notes.
