Playback, rewind, repeat, metronome buttons are not functioning

Musescore crashed randomly the other day and no matter how many times i restart the program, or restart my computer itself, or tinker around with the settings, the playback, rewind, repeat, metronome buttons wont let me click on them. They are grayed out and i cant click on them at all. I have absolutely no idea whats going on, and i cant play back any score i load up. I can still input notes, but thats about it. Also, I can't click on "synthesizer" from the "view" drop down menu. It's gray as well and just wont let me click on it. Maybe ive done something wrong and its an easy fix, but as of right now idk what to do.
