Cresc./Dim. during note-entry
As with a slur in note-entry mode, doesn't it seem reasonable to have a crescendo 'continue' throughout note-entry when utilizing the keyboard-shortcut of [Shift+<] until repeating [Shift+<] again? It seems that it would speed up the process of adding these markings while doing note input, but maybe there'd be reasons to object to such a thing?

It's as logical as slurs. Only objection would be, it's yet another non-obvious sub-mode to implement, maintain, and document, but to me if it's worth doing for slurs, it's worth doing for other lines.

Agreed.

What if, this just happened automatically in note input mode? That is, if you are in note input, any of the usual ways of adding a line (shortcut, double-click, maybe even drag&drop) started the line, then repeating the same action later stopped it?

That would make sense to me. I think it would also deter the desire to drag end points to make it look like the line were over a range of notes.

Yeah, as Marc mentioned, practically all of the elements found in the line-palette would work well this way, and it wouldn't matter if they were entered from a keyboard-shortcut or from the palette.
