Different kinds of trumpet mutes? Trombone mutes?

I'm writing an arrangement of a song that has a certain kind of horn in it. I want to use a muted trombone or a different kind of muted trumpet but all there is is the harsh, typical jazz trumpet mute. This clashes when I play it back and even though I could just wait until real life I want to see how it sounds when I play it back.
