upgrade interface
I have just upgraded to Musescore Pro because I was finding it too hard to find all the features I needed to input a jazz chart for myself and then transpose. But I have just tried to open Musescore again and the interface looks the same, ie, without the extra tools and features. What am I supposed to do to get the upgraded version on my pc?

There is no Pro version of the MuseScore program, it is all free, as is everything on this site, musescore.org.
A Pro account on musescore.com has got nothing to do with the capabilities or features of the MuseSAcore program (for Windows, Mac, Linux).
I wonder what made you think it does?

Because of the features and problems I'm having as per below.... (see attachment). I've been using this/learning how to use Musescore the last few days, so I'm probably really missing something here! Sorry, if I sound a bit vague!

That's the way MuseScore looks, I don't see any problem with it.
What do you expect, what do you think to be missing?
To lear MuseScore reading the handbook certainly won't harm ;-)
And you may want to cancel your Pro account again...
Maybe what you really want is to switch from the Basic to the Advanced workspace?
What tools and feature are you missing?

and yes it sounds like I want the Advance workspace. How do I get that?

By switching to it. In the palette, bottom left. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/workspaces

It seems that issues like this (and people requesting refunds from a .com Pro account) are happening more frequently. Is this simply due to more people are using MS? Or maybe something on the website or elsewhere is not as clear as it could be? Its always been clear to me, but not everyone reads all the available documents, or reads them in their entirety. But a lot of unnecessary forum traffic is being generated as a result.

There does seem to be increased discussion on this subject. To a certain point, the principle of Caveat Emptor applies, but when we start seeing such a volume of posts expressing confusion regarding the .com Pro account, it suggests that things are perhaps not as clear as they should be. It is almost as if many new pro accounts result from messages encouraging customers to "see the egress". (as P.T. Barnum would say) The 7-day trial period is hardly enough time for them to muddle their way around the program and the site(s) and make an informed decision whether to stay or go. (or how, even, to go if they wish)
Experienced users are well aware of the distinctions between the .com and .org accounts, but new users are unlikely to find forum threads such as this one and are quite often confused.
@Vera Deefholts... Welcome aboard.
MuseScore 3 was released less than a year ago, and so some of the older Youtube content shows the toolbar from MuseScore 2.
In fact, if you look at page 2 of your PDF file (the 314.96 KB size), it shows 'Notes' and 'Layout' as menu items. These do not appear in MuseScore 3. The features contained within them have been moved. For example, the 'Transpose' feature is now found under the 'Tools' menu item in MuseScore 3.
The online handbook https://musescore.org/en/handbook (and the forum) is where the most current information can be found.
Regards.

Have just answered other comment as per below. Thank you for your patience Jo-jo-Schmitz. I think it is the different versions and the various "help" online is what is causing confusion, do you think?
......Thank you to all for your comments and help. And yes, I have since also found that the version 3 format is different to the version 2, which I was looking at for information on how to do certain steps. I have found that Transpose feature too now - in that different place in the tool bar (and others). And thanks, yes, will look at handbook again, although is it updated to match the versions of the software do you think?
Regards.

I downloaded version 2 and then I started to understand why the confusion.....see attachment. Still not sure that the current handbook explains the paths to find the features but I know now to look around the menu for them.

@Jojo-Scmitz...
Yes indeed!
I knew that when you wrote:

;-)
That's the issue with posting multiple forum files displaying the "exact same name".
You most likely have encountered such confusion before - especially when .mscz files get changed/fixed/passed around in a lengthy forum thread without any 'versioning'.
Regards.

There are separate handbooks for MuseScore 3 and 2 (and 1 too).
Like for transpose and MuseScore 3 it is https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/transposition, for MuseScore 2 it is https://musescore.org/en/handbook/transposition (and I don't know where the handbook for MuseScore 1 vanished too).
In general those handbook pages usually started their lifes as a copy of the older versions and got adjusted to the newer (and the older tell you where tio find the newer), for some that updating may not have happened yet or not be completly done

Thank you Jojo-Schmitz. You have been very helpful - and patient!
