Turn between notes, how to get this in playback?
I have come across this before, a turn between 2 notes. When it is a fast movement, usually I can get away with just having a turn on the first note because the fast tempo makes any delay in the turn less noticeable. However, I can't do this for the Adagio movement of Beethoven's Piano Sonata no. 1 in F minor, because it is at quarter note = 40 BPM in terms of tempo(yes, Beethoven wrote quarter note = 50 BPM, but that sounds too fast for this particular slow movement). That is very slow, too slow for me to get away with having a turn on the first note. The first turn in the movement is between 2 notes which you can see here:
Now, I was thinking that I could do something like this:
1) Split the quarter note A into 2 eighth notes
2) Put the turn on the second eighth note
3) Make the eighth notes invisible and silent
4) Put in the quarter note A as normal
It would certainly put the turn in the right place visually, but would it actually play back as a delayed turn? And more importantly, would I have the right proportion of A to turn there?
