Other than leaving x measures empty and then pressing M ?
Even simpler, they are created automatically when you generate your parts from the score. The only situations where you ever have to go to the trouble of pressing "M" is if you are entering the music for a sinle part only, without the rest of the score. But in that case, it is indeed as easy as that one keypress.
