MuseScore can't fit 64th notes into the bar and renders the notes over other bars

The issue seems to be that the file imported contains musical data MuseScore can not / will not fit in a measure. This is not related to the import at all, the same issue easily reproduces using the GUI: simply create 64 64th rests in a 4/4 measure using default settings, see attached file.
