Part volume

I have a brass quintet piece using a Flugelhorn in the normal 2nd trumpet position. I have a very hard time hearing that part in playback.
1. How can I increase the part's playback volume relative to the other parts?
2. It might be a defective instrument code. How can I change to a Trumpet, but label as a Fluglehorn?
