Recorder Soundfont
Hi Everyone,
I would like to know the general opinion on which soundfont is best for rendering the SATB recorder consort. This is in comparison to the MuseScore default. That it's subjective is understood.
Thanks.
David

I don't think the default that comes with Version 3 is far from the mark. There are some other fonts available you could check out.

Quoting Arianna from another thread on Musescore :
Well here's an update version of it: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2I_8bgGH-Q3QThIcXNWWTg0Sjg
Also, here's an SFZ Collection of my own Early Music Ensemble SoundFont too! https://www.dropbox.com/s/ofd91yjt6guwtje/Early%20Music%20Ensemble%20SF…

I have been looking for Recorder Sound Fonts like this! Many Thanks, but can they be made downloadable?
We are very short of good early music sounds in MS.
Early Music Instruments - especially recorders - have a subtle and difficult-to-realize sound characteristic. The sound of each recorder in the range is distinct as is the sound of each distinct note on the same recorder. The instrument is so simple but the physics is so not! Discrete sampling from classic instruments by competent players may be the only way. //Don

There are a lot of well recorded classical instrument samples here:

But I have only explored guitar so I don't know if they have recorders. The samples contain several styles/volumes of playing for each note.

There are some woodwind soundfonts here, and recorder is mentioned. Since Polyphone is one of the best free soundfont editors, I hope that the fonts may be good:
