Score pdf is not Formed Correctly

• Oct 24, 2019 - 04:39

Jello,

When I have the piece on the software, everything is fine but when I go and print if off as a pdf, the scores dose not fit the page and I do not know how to fix it. I cannot print from the software: my print will not print anything straight off the software, it only print things off the website in a pdf format. I am submitting this piece for a composition contest on November 1st and the judges need the score that views all the parts on the page.

ALSO, I am a pro member, why do I have a 20 score printing limited that can be only redeemed in 2 hour windows?

Thanks,
Dapper Dan

When the score is formatted to a page size on musescore.com that the user's system does not support there are two good options. When you print the PDF you have the option of shrink to fit. If the PDF is A3, doing this on a letter size paper gives a decent result, though there is an extra wide margin. The other option is to download the .mscz file (the score) and change the page settings to something your printer supports. Tabloid and Ledger are not normally supported by personal computer printers. They are often limited to letter, legal and custom sizes that are not wider than 11 inches (like for labels).

If you do decide to change the paper size you need to look through the score to make sure there are no system breaks that put single measures on a page. It's a little bit of work but not too bad in my opinion.

Dapper Dan is to « submit this score for a composition contest on November 1st and the judges need the score that views all the parts on the page ».
I think if he prints this with a home printer he will get an almost unreadable document.
It is therefore much better to choose one of the two scores I have attached and have it printed in store.
And thus present to the contest a readable and well laid out document.
