Playback properties

This is probably a very basic question, so please bear with me :) If I have a score with a reprise where I want a certain instrument to play that part only the second time, how would I do that? I would imagine there is a playback setting somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. Please help an idiot like me ;) Thanks!
