adding voices without extraneous rests
I am working on a score for Away In a Manger. I've shown in the attached jpg what I want to do and what I get when I use voice 2 to input the extra eighth notes in the bass clef. Is there any way to avoid having the quarter rests show in voice 2? Is there a better way to do what I'm trying to?
