Auto spacing with melisma, lyrics over top of melisma
When I have a longer lyric after a melisma, the notes do not automatically space to give enough room for the lyrics and the melisma.
What can I do?

If you mean you need to put a space either before, or after (or both), the word 'Spring', you can enter a space by pressing Ctrl+spacebar when typing lyrics.
So, enter:
Ctrl+spacebar - S - p - r - i - n - g - Ctrl+spacebar.
See:

EDIT: Correction made from 'Alt' to 'Ctrl'.

Ctrl+Space, not Alt+Space

OOOPS!
Thanks for catching that!
(I ought to read the handbook.)

Thank you
I'm not sure what you mean, the only melismas I see are one "whole", "me", and "life", and each is plainly visible.

The melisma after "whole" is too close to the next word "Spring." I wanted more space between the 3rd & 4th notes to make it more obvious which words go with which notes. Using the suggested "ctrl" + "spacebar," I achieved what I wanted. Please correct me if it isn't musically sound, just visibly more appealing to me.

Understood. That's actually a bug, make the word "Spring" longer and it even overlaps. I feel like I've seen this reported before but I'm not finding an issue for it at the moment.
