Musescore Chromebook Release
I am a student using a school-issued Chromebook. Many districts block the linux features, meaning I can't use any of the linux distributions. That being said, would it be possible to create a Musescore version for the Chrome Web Store? There already is one, but that pirates the current program and makes you pay to actually compose.

It's not technically feasible to create a version of MuseScore native to ChromeOS - the system simply does not provide what would be needed to run MuseScore except by tapping into the Linux support. if you can't convince the school or district to unblock Linux apps, you next best bet is to try RollApp - see https://www.rollapp.com/app/musescore. This works by running MuseScore remotely on their server, but requires a paid account to get sound.
Meanwhile, I'd like to know more about the "pirate" program you mention. I suspect you are confused here, and the program you are seeing is actually the Android app that is indeed a paid app (or has paid options, anyhow) intended for displaying and playing back scores only. It does not edit scores at all.

Thanks Marc for the quick response! I wasn't sure if the rollapp was an official thing (why I said pirate). Even if it weren't paid, I can't convince the district to unblock it. Thanks for your help.

There is no affiliation between MuseScore and Rollapp. They just happen to make MuseScore available in yet another way, just like some people selling DVD's on eBay with MuseScore on there. This is all legal as MuseScore's license (GNU GPLv2) allows this.
