Musescore 3 not responding

I have tried to update to the latest version but can't make it happen, but now musescore isn't responding. When I click on "open" it doesn't work, and then musescore goes away. I had a score on the screen, but when I want to put up a different score it will not do the different score. I don't know if the problem is with my computer, or with musescore. Any ideas? And what does "Choose A File" mean?

I think we need a step by step description of what is happening.
First, what OS? If You have a MAC, restart is the first thing to do.
First you say it doesn't open, then you say it won't open a different score.
Step by step, what is happening?
