Deleting a Score
First, thanks to Marc et al for the reply to last post; I was afraid that method wouldn't work, as I've had problems with that before (several months ago) - anyway, as for a successful solution, it's YES and NO:
1. Some 'normal' Scores I was able to find and delete, removing them from the Start Center pg.
2. Three other files somehow named themselves and are not to be found in any folder! (see scrn shots)
These files I was playing/experimenting with, and have problems, even wrong notes, I know - but I noticed
that in each file there is something different than usual, which may have something to do with the problem.
A. In the file "scem--" I noticed there was a Second 'Staff Text' added to each staff.
B. In "scYa--" there is only one Staff Text; C. "scNl---" has a 3rd Staff added (Marimba)
The reason for the "Feature" topic is this: The program has so many cool, yet complicated, functions, it seems odd that a Delete function couldn't be added in this case (in context menu?)
Again, the 3 files mentioned are Not found, as you can see in the attachments. I searched 'This PC'
and 'Quick Access' - Is there anywhere else they could possibly be (pretty sure I didn't have them on
an external drive) ?

Take a look at the handbook (https://musescore.org/en/handbook/file-formats#msczcomma ), in particular at https://musescore.org/en/node/52116#2.-Autosaved-version
Every X minutes during a session (the time period is customizable in Preferences—default is 2 minutes), _and when you close MuseScore, all open files will be auto-saved to the session directory_. Browse this directory to locate a backup of your file. Each file will have an auto-generated name, "
sc*.mscz"— sorting the list by modification time may help you to find the file more quickly.Set hidden file view.
The oddly named scores are, as mentioned, the result of restoring your last session after a crash. If you then save the scores normally, you won't see those, but if you close MuseScore without ever saving, then those autosaved/restore files can remain visible. This was especially true in older versions but can still happen today in some cases. Best to always explicitly save your work after recovering from a crash, so you know for sure which copy of a file you are working on.
As for a Delete function, it would be very unusual for individual programs to provide duplicates of functionaly that all operating systems already provide. The exception is in the File dialogs - without those, it is usually possible to delete files that appear in the listing, as well as rename, as well as add new folders, etc. So you can do it from there, just use File / Open, navigate to the folder where the file you want to delete or rename is, and right-click it. This, again, is standard behavior across all programs and all operating systems.
To find those files, see the info in the link provided above.
In your case, I would first open those files to be sure they don't contain any information you thought you have saved to the real file before deleting them. Also, if it just bothers you to see them in the list of recent files, it's easy enough to clear that list without worrying about deleting anything - just use File / Open Recent / Clear Recent Files. The list will rebuild itself as you open files normally (eg, using File / Open).

Thanks for the replies, Schoichi and Marc!
There was no 'crash' recently that I was aware of, so who knows why the 'backup' files.
Anyway, FYI, I found that the reason that Search was not finding these files was Settings (Settings>Search>Searching Windows) where certain folders were 'excluded.'
"Clear Recent Files" is good to know - thanks for that - but I do want those useless files deleted!
Even tho' I think I've fixed my 'Search' function, those links do have useful information, so that's appreciated.
