grace note under a quarter rest
I tried the shift notename and yes it did add a note I tried the palette adding a grace note under the rest as well. But to no avail. I added the lyric under the rest thinking this might allow a grace note under the rest but no. So bit stuck.

How did you do this?
That is not a grace note. That is a note in voice 2 with the chord made small using the small chord (not the small in the note section) in the inspector. The unneeded rests were made invisible or deleted.
