Synthesizer Permanently Disabled

I'm trying to play music in musescore 3.5, but the play button is grey and it won't let me click it. I tried enabling the Synthesizer in view, which it wouldn't let me do, and then I tried to reset to factory setting, but nothing changed. What do I do from here?
