Instruments selection is missing vocals
One of my friends recently downloaded Musescore and sent me a picture where I noticed he had "lead vocals" as one of his instruments in his score. There are no vocals options for me to choose except for the "voice". Why am I missing them?

On the New score dialog (after you click New from the Home tab, you should see the following:
You can find the same options if you click the Add button from the Instruments tab on the Score tab. (The ones in the right field are the ones that are off-screen in the middle field.)
Note that there is not an "instrument" called "Lead Vocals". Your friend simply selected an instrument (maybe a vocal instrument or maybe something else) and named it "Lead Vocals".
You can do that by right-clicking on a measure in a staff and clicking Staff/Part Properties... from the context menu that appears. On this dialog you can change the instrument that is associated with a staff and/or you can change how it is labeled on the score. For example, I often will set a part intended to be the vocals to the harmonica instrument and then label it "Lead Vocals"
