1) be on a score with multiple parts
2) double-click on the part in which you desire to change the octave the notes are written in
3) at the bottom of the window that pops up, there is a Part Properties section. At the bottom of that section, there is a transposition function
4) input any number of octaves + 12 (perfect octave)
5) select the button to the left of 'up' and hit apply
6) hit okay
Expected Behavior) part shifts up by the inputted amount of octaves
Actual Behavior) part shifts down by the inputted amount of octaves

It took me some getting used to. The notes are actually transposed down an octave below where they are written.
