Auto Space Issue (solved)

Issues:
downloaded the 3.5 today,
NOTE: Problem has been solved! (I went with Auto Space ... it's better with the new Version)

Original Issue:
I disable Auto Space, so I can fit a chart on one page (long story, that's just me)
This causes problems with spacing.
Now all my saved charts have near Zero space between the barline, and the flat sign of the first note. (strangely, if no sharp or flat notation, the spacing is OK ... but with a flat or sharp, it is near zero.)
Feels like a "Preferences" issue, (but I can't find it) ...
Need a minimum of 1/8" spacing please.
(again - problem solved - I am just leaving this up if anyone has anything to input)

Note: Schoichi and Marc generously helped on a similar issue last year, this Spacing Issue is new to the new version, and after more tinkering, I have found the Auto Space works fine!
By turning it ON , all the spacing issues went away, then I can still drag items a bit (great) and if I need to insert a note at the top (this was a major issue, as it made everything Jump ...) I just hit the = button, to remove the Auto Space for that item - so I'm OK, just leaving this post up for reference - feel free to delete it if it is confusing to anyone.
