I think we should change the title of that chapter to "Triplets and other tuplets" so people can have a chance to search for triplets since they are the most common used and possibly the only ones some users have ever seen.
But a triplet is the most common tuplet, so maybe it's worth to mention it in the chapter title as for example "tuplets (triplets and other)" or similar (there is probably a better description for it).
First mention of Triplets is in the very basic Note Entry page, pretty early in the handbook.
The problem is much more likely that whoever asks for Triplets never looked at the handbook before at all.
I can't remember, maybe after many years ;-). To be honest, I'm fine with it as it is, but maybe it's worth keeping it mind, because it's a frequently asked question.
I suggested it because triplets are among the most common asked about questions in the forums. I know it will not be a revolutionary change but I do think it will help some people think that MuseScore isn't over their heads.
Indeed - I first learned about triplets in piano lessons as a child, and later about quintuplets, sextuplets, etc. But I'd never come across "tuplets" until I started using Musescore 50 years later.
Agree, mike. Triplets are the commonest tuplet. i learned about them when I was 9 and I also learned about duplets. I then, for many years, regarded any other tuplet as just a funny triplet without putting it in the family called tuplets. If I wound back time to about 3/4 the way through the previous millennium and found 5 notes in the space of 4 I would first search for information on triplets (well, I would ask someone in my brass band or orchestra since we didn't have t'internet in those days).

See: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/tuplets? Or are there other things you struggle with?

I agree, or maybe a similar description - Triplets are probably the most requested information for inserting tuplets.

I disagree, see https://musescore.org/en/search/handbook?keys=triplet
First answer when searching the handbook for triplet is ... tuplet!

Probably you're right in most cases. But with my limited music experience: I first heard about triplets before I got a clue about tuplets.

Still you found the corresponding handbook page ;-)

By far outperformed by those answered with "voices" and "hide empty staves" though ;-)

I didn't disagree. So maybe worth for a FAQ?
