New update missing dependencies (OpenSUSE Tumbleweed)

• Feb 7, 2021 - 19:58

Hello,
I am happy to be running 3.5.2 through Tumbleweed's OSS repositories [OS: openSUSE Tumbleweed, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.5.2, revision: cfb429a]. It's been running pretty stable as far as I can tell. Today there was an update pushed, but I could not complete it due to a missing dependency named "qt5qmlimport":

Problem: nothing provides qt5qmlimport(FileIO.3) >= 0 needed by musescore-3.5.2-1.2.i586
Solution 1: Following actions will be done:
keep obsolete musescore-3.5.2-1.1.x86_64
keep obsolete musescore-fonts-3.5.2-1.1.noarch
Solution 2: deinstallation of musescore-3.5.2-1.1.x86_64
Solution 3: break musescore-3.5.2-1.2.i586 by ignoring some of its dependencies

I am happy with the current version, so this is not a complaint, just a heads up. Hopefully it will be fixed within the next couple of releases.

Thank you and keep up the good work!

I assume you are talking about some third party build provided by, for example, your distribution maintainer. If so, you would need to contact them to see if they can fix their build. WHat we provide here is an AppImage that should work on virtually all Linux systems right out of the box, see the Download menu above on this page.

Thank you. I just realized my distribution's update command was trying to change my installation to the i586 version since 3.5.2-1.2 was yet to be built for x86_64. That explains everything. I have now subscribed to a community repository which provides only the 64-bit version, so hopefully there won't be more "false updates."
