Time shift for slow-attack MIDI samples
Using the Timbres from Heaven soundfonts, I would like the attack for the solo violin to start a little before the beat so that the note is playing properly on the beat, and the "ensemble" is somewhat synchronised. The instruments that don't have a percussive start suffer particularly from this.
Does this feature already exist somewhere?

What you are describe is something a player might do themselves, but not necessarily - it would be a subjective call. You can make that same call by editing the ontime in the Piano Roll Editor, or perhaps one of the various plugins for articulation and ornament control.
