Loop playback won't stop

I highlighted a section (last 4 bars) of the track to loop and played it.
But when I hit the play/stop button to stop the loop playback it turned the play button back to white (from blue) but the playback jumped back to the start of the section and continued to play. The only way to stop the playback was to turn off the loop function and then hit the play/stop button.

I tried this on another song and did not reproduce this problem.

When i went back to the song after posting this initial report and tried loop playback again it worked fine. It seems it was a one off.
