Beaming between alternate notes with no rests in between
Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this. I am trying to beam sixteenth notes. In a group of four such notes, I want to beam the first and third together and the second and fourth together. I have not been able to find anything explaining how to do this, but it might be due to my poor internet search skills. Thanks in advance to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

This won't work as long as all notes are in the same voice. If you use two voices this becomes a possibility, where each voice beams to it's own over it's own (likely then invisible) rests. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/voices to learn more about voices.
Do you have a picture of what you a re trying to achieve? Is it anything like the attached?

Thanks for the quick response. Yes, that is almost exactly what I want to do, but without the rests showing up in the score. What is the secret?

Those are hidden, so won't print. They still do affect the stem length, so you may need to move then towards the center of the staff. (you can delete the voice 2 resrs, but not the voice 1 rests)
