Need for Glissandos & Arpeggios to play according to the tablature string order
I recall that the following observation was previously voiced on the forum—but I don't know where, or if it pertained to ukulele or to some other stringed instrument. So here's a fresh hit:
Notes played from a standard staff (from low to high or from High to low) don't always conform to the order they appear in the tablature staff. Hence Musescore may sound them in an order different than would naturally occur in the hands of any strumming performer.
- This is critical if Musescore is to offer realistic sounding strummed arpeggios
-
It's particularly important with reentrant tunings like High G ukulele, or when guitarist mixes high fretted notes with open strings.
I'd suggest that, when tablature is present and the user invokes a strum with a glissando or arpeggio symbol, Musescore sounds the notes according to their tablature staff string order. If the scorist bothers to correctly set the string assignments the information is right there on the TAB staff.
