Playback not working

Hi all, I am having trouble with the playback feature on musescore. It will not play back and the play button is faded like it is not functioning. I also am unable to view the play panel so I don't really know what is going on. I am sure there is a simple reason or solution. I tried to uninstall it and still the issue is there.

Any help would be appreciated.
