Read midi control changes from a script?

I use a Roland Fantom 8 that has DAW support for some software but not musescore. One feature of the keyboard is you can chain scenes (patches) and as you select them in one of many methods including a pedal, the keyboard sends the midi control request to the PC. I would like to write a script, if possible, to scan for the control codes and then activate one of many open (or not) sheets.
