Staves question

So, I see a lot of different things with staves and conductor's scores.

So essentially my question is, say I have two trumpet parts (Bb Trumpet 1 and Bb Trumpet 2), and I see different ways to do this. So usually I just have two separate instruments for 1 and 2, but I often see people use one instrument with two staffs or using voicing.

For me in particular I have a trumpet part which originally had two separate instruments as I always do.
However I want to make it easier for the conductor to read both parts (it's a concert band piece by the way), so I just combined both parts and just used voicing. Is this the right way to do it? Or should I use the staff method instead?
