Status of MuseScore MIDI playback on Macs?

Ever since I updated my Mac to Catalina, I have been unable to play my scores. Worked fine before that. Using the latest update MuseScore. Have looked at the extensive Forum posts, but are very confusing. Is there a Rosetta Stone for this issue? Thanks!
