Kumquaticus Composition Studio (Last updated 10/3/09)
Yeah, I need serious help. Please leave any constructive criticism that might help me improve. As a violin student, this is the first score that I have ever written, with or without MS.

I like the theme you've got going. A couple of suggestions, though- I would probably slow it down to about 108 bpm. That way, the articulation of the 16th notes can at least be heard. Between the 32nds and 16ths, this piece is going to be very difficult for most string players to do, I would think. There's a lot of bow action going on there. I assume those trills you've got the one finger simply being added and removed on the A string, right? (forgive me if I'm wrong about which string- I took cello for my string teaching techniques class and that was 4 years ago now; I will brush up if I ever do need to teach beginning strings, I promise!) Second suggestion- can you add bow markings in MuseScore or is that something that needs to be put in future editions? I'd be curious to see how you would bow this (I assuming that you're a violinist).

String bowings are in the articulations palette . See also slur .

And yes, I am a violinist, but I was using this primarily as a tool for digital music making and fooling around with MuseScore, so I didn't really consider bow direction or difficulty. When I next edit this, however, I will try your suggestions. The 32nds are definitely going to be slurred, btw. Anyway, thanks for being nice enough to comment!
I just updated my unfinished piece with bow markings, though I probably will not continue it. I also realised that I am unable to edit the post, so the (Last Updated M/D/Y) thing doesn't really work. : /
Oh well! I have plenty of projects to be working on!
