Cuban Tres notation
I thought if I added an instrument.xml file I could have a Cuban tres instrument. It doesn't appear to work, but in any case, this should probably be added do the defaults. You have laud after all :)
The tres is a 3 string instrument tuned to either open C (traditionally) or open D (modern).
It would also need tab.
If someone can point me to the correct way to add this I will, but it probably should be in the core.
More info, or you can just ask me.

Here is what a sample looks like, and importing musicxml really was messed up so I had to just delete the tab line :(

I don't play the tres but would adapting a different instrument, messing around with the transposition and string tuning allow you to create a template that you can use to approach what you are after?

I used a Bazouki for the sound and added a linked stave for 3-string Balalaika TAB. In Stave/Parts Properties, I transposed by one octave and clicked on Edit String Data to set the tuning. I also changed the lower end of the Usable pitch range to match the lowest string.
