Italian Notation

• Apr 6, 2022 - 22:57

Please, please, please add italian notations as a future thing, especially in Musescore 4. There are so many pieces that require certain tempo markings such as rubato, marcato, ritardando, and many, many others. I don't understand why they haven't really been put into place yet since they've been discussed on these forums for over 10 years. I am not going to meticulously go through a piece, changing each note to have a separate tempo just to give a feeling as if it were rubato.

MuseScore 4 will have support for these markings. Meanwhile, you can easily get the playback today without adding a bunch of tempo markings manually - just use the excellent Tempo Changes plugin (see Downlaod menu above).

Note there is nothing specifically "Italian" about tempo changes - the same technique works if you use the equivalent English terms, or German, or french.
