Limiting crescendo/diminuendo lines to part of a bar.
I've noticed that when I have a bar that contains a note followed by rests, and I select that note, then cresescendo/dimuendo lines default to the whole bar (first image) and I have to adjust manually (second image). Am I missing something?
Thanks]

Try selecting the note and using SHIFT+> instead.

Damn, I've spent so much time adjusting by hand. But it would be nice if the default behaviour was to match the selection lenght.
Thanks

You'd have spent less time reading the handbook ;-)

The default does match the selection length - make the selection, then either press the shortcut or click the palette. Only drag & drop doesn't work that way, because it's all about dragging onto a specific element and not requiring a selection in the first place. But it's the least efficient method anyhow.

That hasn't been my experience. I've been getting whole bar dim/crescendos with notes in only part of the bar selected and then clicking on the palette. The shortcut seems to work.

Got the same experience. The palette click however works when you make a range selection including only the dotted half.

Right, has to be a range selection (with blue rectangle) if you want MuseScore to not have to guess how long you want that line to be.

I''m aware of that.

OK, in the previous post it sounded like you were still having an issue If you are, please attach the score and give precise steps to reproduce the problem. Otherewise, glad to have helped!
