24th fret in TAB for guitar

I have set my fretboard to 24 frets, however when I place a note on the staff it won't show up on the 24th fret. For example, if I place an E4 (I believe, that's the right one) on the treble staff, then go down to the TAB staff and try to drag it so that it shows up on the 24th fret of the low E string, it will only go to the 19th fret on the A string. I have to enter a note on the low E string on the TAB staff and then arrow it up until it gets to 24. It does this for all the notes of each string (low E string, A, D, G, B) except the high E string for which it will place on the 24th fret. Any help is appreciated.
