Describe the bug
Once a score is sufficiently complex I encounter an issue with playback. More accurately: Playback works fine until i start tinkering with notes. Sometimes newly edited notes become mute. Also sometimes entire staves/bars become mute, even when they played fine earlier. It seems like at memory issue, but I'm not sure. To be clear: This is inconsistent and it's only part of the music that's playing, while other parts are not playing.

To Reproduce
I have attached the file wherein the issue happens. You should be able to reproduce with editing new notes, and repeated playback. However you may need to have the program open ("work") for 20-30 minutes before the issue happens. Also attached image of bars where issue appears.

Expected behavior
Notes should play regardless of how they are manipulated.

I am experiencing this as well, on macOS Sonoma 14.0, Macbook Pro M2 Max.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the file Stand-Up Maths Theme.mscz
2. Select the low C in measure 29
3. Press "C" on the keyboard 8 times to fill in the whole measure with the same notes
4. Press spacebar to start playback.

Expected behavior: the piece plays as normal, starting from the cursor at the end of measure 29.
Actual behavior: several notes in measure 30 do not sound.

I, too have often encountered this problem after making edits to notes. The only workaround I have found is to select the entire piece then click on the "Play" check box. This is not unique to a single score. The playback will quit for certain instruments (I cannot discern a pattern) after the edited note has been reached. It is very random, even with which instruments stop playing (the edited instrument can also stop playback after the edit). But once the issue begins, it then happens with increasing regularly until I give up, save the piece, close MS4 and then reopen and continue with my work.

I don't know if this could be related, but very frequently...when I have muted other instruments while working on a passage...making edits to an un-muted part will un-mute the silenced ones without my input to do so. Perhaps the opposite is happening, but not showing up on the mixer.
